The journey west from Kausgar began with some difficult treck across pamir. That is known as the "The Western Silk Road". After they traveled across Pamir there was many Mt. passes that were narrow and dangerous. After the Pamir Mts. the route took travelers through a fertile valley in what is now Afghanistan. Then from Ctesphon the silk road turned north and passed trough the Syrian desert. The ships reached Anitoch and other Meditteranian ports. Then goods loaded on ships to cross the Med. sea. Traders from Eygypt ,Arabia, and Persia brought perfume, and cosmetics.
